Ukraine: worthwhile to save?

Almost two months have passed since Ukraine become involved in a real civil war between people who want to became part of Russia and people who just desire to live in peace. Is this right? Yes, maybe it could be, but is it really necessary to do something like this, ruining a country so full of marvellous monuments and important places?
The situation is very complex and not easy to explain with little words, but what is true is that each person is doing only his interests.

I have gone to Ukraine about 4 years ago and I visited it almost in every part and I thought it was a very nice country, full of different environments, different costumes and traditions, different people and minds… maybe too different. In fact nowadays the contrasts are due to this minds, that are too far to cross together.

I also visited Crimea, that part of Ukraine that is now under the Russian control. A region that is far more industrialized than the other part and this could be the reason why Russia decided to try to conquer it.

Kiev is the capital of Ukraine, full of fantastic Orthodox church, that I suggest to visit, because of their huge beauty, so different from classic European ones.

But Crimea is something more. It is a big piece of story, starting with the famous Yalta's conference, during which the most important politics of the time took important decisions about the Second World War. Inside the fantastic resicence you can see in the picture on the right, Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin laid the foundations of what will become the Cold War between USA and Russia.

But this is not all! There is also the well-known Crimea's War, that involved lots of country with their troups: France, Great Britain, Italian people, Ottoman Empire and obviously Russian. It was a three years war and completely destroyed Sebastopoli that was sorrounded by armies. Even today is possible to visit in Odessa a Museum where this tale is narrated with paintings.
But Crimea means also the presence of the Black Sea and of lots of amusements. For Italian people it could be compaired to Rimini, because it is full of discos and pubs.

These are just few reasons why I totally love this part of Ukraine, full of surprises ready to be discovered from each of you. So I'd like to ask people not to ruin the Beauty we have in the world and to restore them to make them shine.

Peace is not something optional, it is something that MUST be, not only in Ukraine, but everywhere.
